How long does it take Fox Auto Transport to Ship my car?

The normal time for Moving and delivery of your vehicle is approximately anywhere from the same day to 14 days. During this time, all cars are being loaded on a car carrier or a truck with other cars. Below, are some basic ideas to help you along the way. These times are estimated and should not be considered as guarantees.

East Coast to West Coast Auto Transport – approx. 7-14 days
Midwest to East Coast Auto Transport – approx. 5-8 days
South to North Auto Transport – approx. 5-8 days

How does door-to-door Shipping service work?

Door-to-door service in the Transporter industry means the truck driver will get as close to your door as he can legally and safely. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from driving into some residential areas. Auto Transport trucks are massive and need lots of space to maneuver and turn around. If your home is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may ask you to meet the truck at a different destination.

Who can I contact during my Transporter?

The Mover company Transporter your vehicle will provide you with a number that you can call and receive your information.

Do I need insurance coverage for Transporter?

The Shipping company Transporter your vehicle will provide you with insurance. This insurance covers all damages caused by accidents while the vehicle is being loaded, major changes in the vehicle’s condition, and unforeseeable damage that is a result of mishandling by the carrier.

What forms of payment are accepted by Fox Auto Transport?

Cash, cahier check, money orders, visa and master cards will be accepted. No personal checks and no business checks will be accepted. Payment must be arranged prior to pick up.

Can customers leave personal items in the vehicle during Shipping?

The US Department of Transportation prohibits the carrying of personal items on a truck licensed only for carrying automobiles. By violating this federal law, the company Transporter your vehicle can be fined up to $10,000. All personal belongings that are left inside the vehicle will not be insured and no company is responsible for missing or damaged items.

Will my car go to a terminal?

It depends on what day your vehicle is scheduled for pickup and delivery. If the carrier cannot pickup/deliver your vehicle(s) due to scheduling conflicts, inaccessible areas or both. All terminals used are secured, licensed, and fully insured. If the Fox Auto Transport company must drop your vehicle off at a terminal, you will be contacted before hand.

Why does a truck (SUV) cost more than a regular vehicle?

All Transporter shipments are based on weight that a truck can legally carry. This is why there may be a small price difference.

What should the customer do if the vehicle is damaged?

Make sure that you let the driver know that the damage is new and was not on original bill of lading. All damages should be marked and noted clearly. The driver should sign off on them. The next step is to contact the Auto Transport company about your vehicle and let them know as soon as possible. Some Transporter companies have a day limit, so make sure you do it right away.

Do I need to be present during pickup and delivery?

Yes, we require you, or a designated person, to be present upon pick up of your vehicle. During pick up a contract “bill of landing” will need to be signed by you at the origination point. If unable to be there, please contact the Transport company prior to the pick up date to confirm an alternate designated person. If you schedule a day for pick up and don’t show up, your vehicle could be turned over to a towing company.

How far in advance should I schedule the of my vehicle?

Next–day is available but we recommend that you schedule your Transporter as far out as you can.

What is the difference between open and enclosed carrier in Auto Transport

Open Carrier
This is vehicle Moving that does not protect your vehicle from the elements. Your vehicle is exposed to the weather, but the Auto Transport companies can fit more vehicles on their truck and this lowers the cost of Moving. Damages from the elements are rare, but can occur. Most people are willing to take the small risk to save a considerable amount of money.

Enclosed Carrier
This is Transport that protects your vehicle from the elements. Going enclosed can protect your vehicle from weather, rocks and theft. In most cases enclosed Moving will cost double of what it would cost to ship on an open carrier. These companies have more experience with high end vehicles. Enclosed companies tend to give more personable service for each car they ship.

General Auto Transport

These are the general guidelines and industry standard answers for the most common Auto Transport questions. If you have more specific questions, feel free to call us. We want to make sure that your Transporter experience is the very best.

First of all, take a deep breath and know that thousands of people ship their vehicle every month. We know that moving your car can be a very stressful time, especially if it is your first time. We want to equip you with the knowledge and confidence you need to get your car from point A to point B. We are confident that our fast, safe, and painless process will work for you like it has many others.

Your first step to your vehicle the right way is easy - fill out our online quote form. Our free search tool allows you to find the top Auto Transport companies available; no brokers or middle men, only the best transporters in the industry that run to the area you need your vehicle moved to. Once you have submitted your custom quote, the best, most dependable Transport companies in your area will get back to you with your Transporter price either by email or telephone. At this point, there are some important things to think about. To prepare you to make the best, most informed Transport decision, here are some proven, full-proof tips.

Once you have been contacted by a number of Transport companies, you should do some research of your own. This will help ensure that the Transporter of your car is smooth. Take time to call the Shipping companies and make an informed decision based upon their reputation and the customer service skills over the phone. Definitely “Google” their name and see what other customers say about their experience with the Mover company.

You may even want to call the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration hotline at (888) 368-7238. They can give you a brief history of license and insurance record; as well as any complaints have been made about the Shipping company. Whatever you do, seriously consider all your options.

Now lets talk about cost. You may be pleasantly surprised that that Transporter your vehicle is more affordable now than ever. A lot of factors go into your Transport pricing; the origin and destination, vehicle size, the level of service desired, regional weather, gas prices, distance and time, to name a few.

It doesn’t take long to realize that your price varies from Mover company to Mover company. Make sure you do not fall into the trap that many people fall into – book the cheapest because it’s the cheapest. In this industry, price may not equal value. For example, there may be a reason why they are less expensive; they may cut corners on insurance other mandated paperwork and permits. It may not seem like $100-200 is a big deal, but in the unlikely event of an accident or damage to your vehicle during Moving, their lack of proper insurance or other permits can come back to haunt you…all to save a couple hundred dollars.
